It starts on the right side of the Short Wall. Go straight up the face towards a cedar tree. The route is named for Ferne Clyffe's Ranger Sam.

Look at the wall and locate two plate sized iron flakes 5ish feet off the ground. Begin right of the flakes and climb up and rightward. While climbing, work towards a black streak.

Begin by climbing through a small overhang on good holds. Continue through the continuous crack that angles to the right.

Locate the two iron flakes 5ish feet from the ground on the wall. Climb up between them and go straight up.

Work your way up and through big pockets while angling leftward as you ascend

Start 3ish feet left of the left flake and climb straight up.

Climb the hand crack. Takes gear well for the leader

Start at the base of the overhung, rightward angling arete. Go straight up the face, staying out of the dihedral.  

  Note: If desiring to lead First Born a rehearsal is recommended. The dihedral offers the only protection for gear. First Born in recent times is usually top roped

Climb the dihedral crack, crux is midway up.

This is a tricky, balance dependent route. Climb no handed through the farthest gully /crack

Another straightforward climb straight up the center of the crack

Climb the face on the inside of the dihedral. Continue up, angling to the right, and move towards an overhanging point. Pull over the point, and follow the aerie to the top.

Climb the thin flake until you top out onto a shelf. Top out straight above

Straightforward climb straight up the center of the gully

Work up right facing dihedral around to right-face, up through split in rock to large sloping ledge. move into large water groove/chimney for about 10 ft of crux climbing to slight overhang and "cedar" tree   at top.

Climb up the wandering crack. For a better challenge, start in the hand crack and work your way through the roof.

A fun romp up a groove with a crack in the bottom. 

  Solid rock.  Easy cruisin'.

Supposed to go up and left. Hard line. Follow the path of least resistance

Begin up the crack until it ends halfway up the wall. Traverse left along a rounded shelf. Pull through an overhang and climb up through a "V" shaped groove.

The Main Wall is home to many quality top-rope climbs and a few natural leads.
